MAX JASON MAI - DON'T CLOSE YOUR EYES

SELECTION FORMAT

Already in November, several sites reported that the local broadcaster had chosen Miro Smajda as their representative to Baku. However, the broadcaster and Miro denied this a few weeks later and told that there's no contracts. Three months later, RTVS held a press conference where it announced that Miro Smajda, renamed as Max Jason Mai, will represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012. Also his entry was premiered.

MAX JASON MAI

23 years old Miroslav Šmajda is behind this artist name. He came second in a Czech and Slovak version of Pop Idol in 2009 and came back to spotlight after his Eurovision announcement. Max's passion is rock music and he writes and composes songs by himself. He reveres all living beings, that’s why he’s vegetarian and he doesn’t wear clothes made from leather, as he wouldn’t want to be a handbag either.

MY PREDICTION

This time the problem is not in the singer but in my head. This kind of a music is not my cup of tea, there is no getting around it. He is also unapproachable for me and I don't feel anything when listening to this. Sorry, Slovakia. My prediction; 14th-17th in the semifinal.
