SINPLUS - UNBREAKABLE

Text: Gabriel Broggini, Ivan Broggini

Music: Gabriel Broggini, Ivan Broggini

SELECTION FORMAT

Just like in 2011, Switzerland choosed its representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 before any other country. Four different Swiss broadcasters selected their contestants for the national final, held on December 10. A total of 14 entries were competing in the final where the winner was chosen by the televoters. Also the first ever Eurovision winner, Lys Assia, was competing and came 8th. Sinplus got 17% of the votes and won the Die grosse Entscheidungs Show.

SINPLUS

Two brothers, Gabriel and Ivan Broggini grew up listening to Queen, Bob Marley and U2 and began playing music at an early age. Their band called inFinity released a single which made it to the charts. The band was later renamed as Sinplus and they started to gain success in Switzerland. One of their songs, Shoot, became one of the official anthems of the 2009 World Hockey Championships. They won the Swiss pre-selection for Eurovision 2012 and recently they relesed their album 'Disinformation' digitally. It will be soon released physically as the brothers signed with Warner Music in April.

MY PREDICTION

All the Swiss entries from 2008 till this year have been great and last year they reached the final, which they deserved. These brothers are really nice and their song makes me always smiling. Maybe a little bit too stagnant towards the end but I can forgive it. My prediction; 9th-12th in the semi-final.
