OTT LEPLAND - KUULA

SELECTION FORMAT

A few years ago the Estonian broadcaster launched a new selection format, Eesti Laul. The same, nowadays popular, format was used also this year. Songs could be sent from September to December. From 159 demos, ERR selected 20 semifinalists, 10 for each of the two semifinals. From each semifinal, five most voted qualified to the final. National final took place in Tallinn on March 2nd and Ott Lepland won the competition.

Ott, 24, started his music career already in 1995, when he was only eight years old. He released four albums with childrens songs. He is known better for his participation at the Estonian talent competition, Eesti otsib superstaari, which he won in 2009. Since that, Ott has starred many musicals and released two albums, latest one in November.

MY PREDICTION

This is it, if not the best but one of the best ballads in this year's contest. So sincere emotions from a convincing artist. My all-time Estonian favorite is still Rändajad but this is right after it. My prediction; 3rd-6th in the semifinal.
