LTV announced on its website that it received a total of 71 entries for Eirodziesma 2012. Yesterday was the last day to participate. An year ago, the same number of demos were sent

On October 20th, songs will be uploaded online and everybody can listen to those songs and vote for their favourites, although the jury decides the semifinalists. The broadcaster won't mention the names of the authors.

20 semfinalists will be revealed in a press conference on November 8th, also the authors will be announced. But the artists will be revealed on the first day of December.

For the first time in the history of Latvian national selections, there will be live semifinals on January 7th and 14th. In the last years, those shows were recorded. Together with the jury, televoters decides the qualfiers (Five from each semifinal). The national final is set to take place on February 18th in Ventspils theatre.
