Earlier today, SVT and Friends Arena proudly revealed that the final of Swedish national selection 2013 will be held in the Friends Arena, currently under construction, in Stockholm

This new arena will replace Globen as the venue for the Melodifestivalen final. The Friends Arena is Sweden's new national football stadium, with capacity for 50,000 seated sports fans and up to 65,000 concert guest. For comparison, Globen has seating capacity of 16,000 spectators for shows and concerts. It is located in Solna, just north of the capital Stockholm and it is expected to be opened in October.
The final of Melodifestivalen is scheduled to take place on March 9th.
Dear visitors, this article is again very popular after Sweden won Eurovision 2012. I underline that this article was published in March and it is about Melodifestivalen, the Swedish preselection where the representative for 2013 will be selected. SVT hasn't chosen where the Eurovision Song Contest itself will be held.
